Writing and Drama Camp
(1st - 3rd grade)
Boost your child’s reading and writing skills while also igniting their creativity!
This camp is a combination of two of the most important core subjects - reading & writing, as well as the exciting world of drama! Half of the day, (8am - 11 am) will be spent working with two credentialed teachers to boost writing skills and help to prevent that "summer slide". Teaching students entering 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade to be more confident readers and writers. High quality instruction using creative literature and writing exercises will be tailored to give each student the opportunity to advance and improve their skills.
The other half of the day, (12pm -3pm) will be spent learning theatre skills and working on a finished performance with a credentialed drama teacher. Students will be challenged to think creatively while learning at the same time! Campers in this group will also be learning about what goes into a show "behind the scenes" and will have opportunities to help build costumes and props.
The week will culminate in an onstage performance for friends and family!
